Start Before You're Ready

Have you ever heard the phrase "start before you're ready"? It's something that's been said by many gurus and experts, and for good reason. The truth is, we often sell ourselves short and underestimate our own capabilities. But starting before you feel fully prepared is the key to success.
Think about it this way: What is the worse that can happen?
"You might get criticized."
But isn't that a small price to pay for the opportunity to share your ideas and opinions with the world? And who knows, you might even connect with people who have opposing views and learn something new in the process.
"What if my family reads what I have to say and do not appreciate my online presence? "
But you shouldn't let other people's opinions hold you back. Remember, the very people who may be saying "what are you doing?" or "you're wasting your time" will change their tune once you succeed.
"I do not know how to or where to start."
But with the wealth of information available online, it's never been easier to pick up a new skill. For example, I recently purchased an embroidery kit to learn a new skill, but the instructions that came with it weren't enough for me to learn the craft. So, I turned to YouTube and found hundreds of videos that explained the step-by-step process. Now, I'm not an expert, but I was able to make a start.
I also follow people who have already established themselves in the field I'm interested in. This helps me track their journey, understand what they've learned, and even reach out to them if I have specific questions.
I know firsthand how difficult it can be to get started on a passion project. I created my Instagram page @lettingmyhairdown in 2022, but I had a hectic work schedule and some health issues, so I wasn't able to post consistently. But even though I wasn't able to post as frequently as I would have liked, I did the best that I could. And you know what? It paid off. I started with just 40 followers, but now I have doubled that number by posting just five times a week.
The point I'm trying to make is that it's better to try and fail than to spend our time worrying about "what ifs".
Remember the two quotes,
Man proposes, God disposes.
and
Do not let your fears hold you back.
